DETROIT – One security guard is dead, and another is wounded after a man was asked to leave a Detroit health facility and returned with a gun on Wednesday, March 30, The Associated Press reports.
The shooting was reported around 1 p.m. at the Team Wellness Center on the city’s eastside, police said. Diante Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, WDIV Local 4 reports. The other security guard is in temporary serious condition at a local hospital, AP reports.
Earlier in the day, the suspected shooter had failed to complete the facility’s intake process, Detroit Police Capt. Conway Petty told reporters. He was asked to leave. The man returned later, had a confrontation with the security guard, pulled out a gun and began shooting at them. The suspect then fled the scene and remains at large.
