Adirondack Health: Masking still required in healthcare settings | News, Sports, Jobs

SARANAC LAKE — While the mask mandate has ended for most indoor settings in New York state, masking is still required in healthcare facilities, including all Adirondack Health campuses, the health network reminded residents this week.

On Sunday, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced face coverings would no longer be required in schools as of Wednesday, March 2.

However, masking is still required in the following settings in New York state:

¯ Healthcare settings like hospitals and doctors’ offices

¯ Nursing homes

¯ Correctional facilities

¯ Public transportation (taxis, buses, etc.)

Private establishments such as restaurants and stores can also still require patrons and workers to wear a mask.

Adirondack Health thanked the community for its cooperation with its health screeners, who help keep its facilities safe for its patients and employees.
