The team at Long Island Community Hospital, which is affiliated with NYU Langone Health, provides medical care to more than 400,000 people each year in eastern Long Island.

Located in Patchogue, Long Island Community Hospital is a 306-bed medical center situated in the heart of Suffolk County. The hospital facility is home to the Knapp Cardiac Care Center—an advanced heart disease diagnosis and treatment facility—as well as a modern ambulatory surgical pavilion and specialized services including women’s imaging, a sleep laboratory, and bariatric surgery.

The Emergency Department at Long Island Community Hospital is the entry point for a Level 3 Trauma Center. The trauma team provides care to people in the community who have experienced a car accident, fall, or other major injury.

Long Island Community Hospital is designated by the New York State Department of Health as a Primary Stroke Center, with neurologists available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for expert treatment for people experiencing stroke symptoms. The stroke center has also earned the American Heart Association’s Stroke Gold Plus and Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award, its highest honor, recognizing consistent compliance with quality measures for treating stroke.

In addition to services at the hospital facility, Long Island Community Hospital has multiple outpatient sites. This includes two outpatient wound care centers, facilities for hemodialysis, home care, and various primary care offices.
