Hope Distributed to host health resource fair

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Hope Distributed, CDC will be hosting a Health Resource Fair on their campus April 9, 2022. The fair will run during the Saturday morning food pantry from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is open to the public.

The Health Resource Fair is an opportunity for Harrisonburg and Rockingham County residents to gain knowledge about the health resources available in the area.

Organizers say this event will bring together health professionals to represent their organizations and answer questions about the health needs of these residents.

Participants in the fair should expect to collect resources on general health and wellness for themselves and their families. Specific areas of health will include sexual health, elderly needs, women’s health, dental needs, and veteran’s health.

Eleven organizations have been invited to participate in this fair, including Harrisonburg Community Health Center (HCHC), Blue Ridge Free Clinic, Sentara RMH, Strength in Peers, Rockingham County Social Services, VA Department of Health (Central Shenandoah Health District), AVA Care, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Anicira Veterinary Center, Valley Program for Aging Services, and Harrisonburg Rockingham Community Services Board.

The event will be held outdoors, and masks are not required for participants.
