The young man who died after an alleged hit-and-run in Auckland’s CBD can now be named as Connor Boyd.

Two 18-year-olds, a man and woman, are jointly charged with Boyd’s manslaughter. They entered not guilty pleas when they appeared at the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday.

Boyd died in Auckland City Hospital three days after he was allegedly hit by a car.

The woman has also been charged with three counts of assault.

A lawyer, acting on behalf of the woman, also asked for interim name suppression to continue.

The man’s lawyer, Paul Borich, QC, did not seek continued name suppression, however the woman’s lawyer sought continued suppression to protect the identity of his client.

The name suppression hearing was set down for June 2.

Justice Fitzgerald acknowledged Boyd’s family and friends, who were present in court on Wednesday.
