A raid at a Pell City CBD store Friday led to the seizure of 200 items from the sales floor.
Pell City police Lt. Jonathan Swiney said officers carried out the search warrant at Sky Vape & CBD. The store is located in the 2100 block of Cogswell Avenue and first opened in November 2021.
The seized items, Swiney said, are believed to contain illegal amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the hallucinogenic component found in marijuana. The items will be sent to a laboratory for further testing.
The Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board assisted in the probe. The ABC Board licenses the business to sell tobacco products.
Swiney said the investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are expected.
