Two women have been arrested after a police officer was allegedly bitten on the hand while responding to reports of a fight in Sydney’s CBD.
Police were called to the corner of Oxford St and Palmer St in Darlinghurst before 3am on Monday following reports of a fight between six people.
Officers from Surry Hills and Sydney City Police Command attended the scene and dispersed the gathered people.
While attempting to arrest one of the six people involved in the fight, an officer was allegedly bitten on the hand.
A 26-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman were arrested and both are expected to be charged on Monday.
The police officer has been taken to Sydney Hand Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
