Heathfield, South Australia (17.7 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : heard a loud noise then house shook, we immediately thought earthquake but checked that it wasn’t the sound of thunder by going outside | One user found this interesting.
Hectorville, SA (29.1 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / 5-10 s : Long rolling rumble, like thunder. Rumble too long to be a truck. No one in my house believed me, by the time I got them all to pipe down and mute the TV it was over and they all thought I was crazy.
near Nairne, Mount Barker, South Australia (9.3 km ESE of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : I live a short distance from the Kanmantoo mine and have felt them blasting, this was much more violent, I felt a jolt through my feet and the whole house shook
near Whyalla, South Australia (252.8 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 20-30 s : Sound of rumbling just out the front of my house. A big truck rumbling past. Only lasted 30sec or so.
Reynella East (33 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : I was standing in the kitchen and it felt and sounded like the ground vibrated beneath me, moving from one side of the house to the other.
Flagstaff Hill (30.3 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / very short : Didn’t feel any shaking but heard the rumbling which sounded like a freight train passing through. Dogs all stood suddenly to altert positions
Nairne (2.6 km NNW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 15-20 s : Weak shaking wondered if the main road had a large truck going down or a large train was passing. Windows rattled. Lack of direction indicated earthquake
HALLETT COVE (36.4 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 2-5 s : Sitting my lounge chair, felt the ground move sideways. Also felt at shock wave as a consequence I now have a headache.
SEAFORD RISE (42.2 km WSW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Cups,glassware,delf tinging on my kitchen dresser im sitting beside,wasnt sure if it could have been a rumble from thunder or a small tremor
Near Craigburn Primary School in Flagstaff Hill (27.4 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / vibration and rolling / 5-10 s : Rolling that sounded like thunder then a sudden horizontal movement that made everything rattle followed by more rolling thunder.
Aldgate, Adelaide Hills, South Australia (16.4 km WNW of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 10-15 s : Shaking and rumbling, becoming more intense then reducing over about 10 – 1 seconds. Windows rattled, some noise, like a very heavy train going by.
Athelstone, Campbelltown, South Australia (32.1 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) : Windows rattling wooden floor vibrating under my feet 2 glasses on table next to each other vibrating wasent a big truck cos I live in a suburb with no heavy vehicles allowed and plains dont make things vibrate like this
Carey Gully (16.4 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 1-2 s : Pressure wave affecting ears. Heard a rumble like a heavy truck approaching for 1-2 secs then felt the rumble. Unmistakable!
Mitcham (27.8 km WNW of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : Loud Rumble from a distance came through, like a truck rumbling past. More sound and vibration rather than shaking. Daughter on the floor below didn’t notice it. I am on upper storey – although at the back it is ground level but front it is 2 storey.
adelaide (27.3 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) : General shaking in house in lounge as watching TV. Gog agitated and came for comfort as shaking started.
Adelaide (33.5 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / horizontal (sideways) swinging / 2-5 s : Stayed at home on the bed, all tenants felt earthquake, home and furnitures shaking, windows. Same feeling as 3 weeks ago when we had 3.8 earthquake
Strathalbyn (15.8 km S of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 10-15 s : Fairly loud rumble, like truck but seemed to feel (?) Deeper. Barely noticeable shaking. Dogs moderately disturebed.
Adelaide, Reynella (35.1 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) : Just sitting on lounge, watching tv. Felt it through the lounge. Also got text from friend 3 streets away asking if just had a tremor. Livevin single storey house.
Mount Barker South Australia (5 km SW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / single lateral shake / 2-5 s : Sitting in the lounge watching tv and it felt like a plane landed on the roof. Ground shook, windows and doors rattled. It was quite intense
Reynella, Onkaparinga, South Australia (32.5 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 1-2 s : Walking around my house, heard very loud rumble, saw some items (e.g. TV, windows) shake in the house
Aldinga Beach (49.2 km WSW of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / single vertical bump / very short : Sitting downstairs. Felt the house jolt suddenly. Heard a very low rumble for a few seconds following the jolt.
Echunga, Mount Barker, South Australia (15.4 km SW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 1-2 s : Standing in kitchen, felt a low rumble through the floor then the cupboards and windows gave a slight rattle.
Nairne South Australia (1.9 km NW of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 5-10 s : Bang and then rolling rumble and shaking of walls windows and doors mostly, some shaking of items inside
FLAGSTAFF HILL (28.6 km W of epicenter) [Map] / Weak shaking (MMI III) / 30-60 s : Sitting in lounge room. Loud roar, then good shaking, window crack noises. Counted the shake for 40 secs. Could hear the rumble going north.
114 ness rd Finniss 5255 (39.5 km SSW of epicenter) [Map] / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 20-30 s : Sitting on my bed and windows started rattling and a cup of water was vibrating and the house was creaking. Made me jump and stand up.
Mount Barker (3.7 km SSW of epicenter) [Map] / Very weak shaking (MMI II) / very short : I was Standing up about to put my daughter in bed, heard a rumble thought it was thunder but it kept going
Oakbank / Moderate shaking (MMI V) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : Sounded like a big truck driving towards us. Dogs barking. House shook weak shaking slightly no breakages. Only a few seconds. Water in bottle moved.
Littlehampton SA 5250 / Light shaking (MMI IV) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : Just prior my Dog started barking & wanting to come inside. My Horses were restless & pacing along fence near house. House shook & rumbling sound. Didn’t last very long.
Valley View / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 1-2 s : Weak shaking. Heard and felt rumble. The dishes on the sink vibrated. Over after a second and we weren’t sure if it was a quake or not
STRATHALBYN SA / Weak shaking (MMI III) / rattling, vibrating / 2-5 s : Made my windows rattle and floor was vibrating. Stated on one side of our lounge room towards the window. You could hear the vibrations moving across the room.
