Lampard sends message to supporters after Wolves defeat

Frank Lampard has admitted it is his job to pick up his Everton players after spotting more positives against Wolves than he did against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues were beaten at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon thanks to a second half header from Conor Coady, with Jonjoe Kenny being sent off 12 minutes from time to compound their misery.

Boos met the full time whistle from the home fans as another opportunity for three points slipped by, but Lampard was keen to focus on some positives.

He wants to pick up points both home and away in the closing stages of the campaign, and believes Sunday’s match was an improvement on what had come earlier in the week.

The Everton manager told his post-match press conference: “I don’t put emphasis on Goodison Park, I want to get points everywhere.

“It wasn’t more worrying than Tottenham, Tottenham wasn’t a good performance. Today I think the first half we were the stronger team.
