Neil Critchley is hoping for good news for Chelsea loanee Dujon Sterling’s injury ahead of this week’s big derby clash against Preston North End.
The defender came off towards the end of the 4-1 loss at Bloomfield Road at the hands of Nottingham Forest, going down off the ball holding his foot and ankle.
The Seasiders suffered a 4-1 loss at Bloomfield Road yesterday in the Championship’s early kick-off as Blackpool’s slim play-off hopes took a blow.

Philip Zinckernagel provided the opener with a slice of lucky with his deflected finish looping over Dan Grimshaw, albeit he was afforded too much space to work the opening in the first place.
Brennan Johnson found himself with space to place home inside the area once again before a third came after another poor pass from Grimshaw found the feet of Johnson who ran through on goal and chipped the keeper.
Sam Surridge’s late fourth added further gloss to the victory before Callum Connolly’s consolation goal for Blackpool.
Speaking after the win, Critchley admitted he is unsure if Sterling will be ready to face North End this Tuesday evening at Deepdale as the Seasiders hope for good news on the injury front.
He said: “I don’t know actually, I’ve not seen.
“I will speak to the physio and see what the latest is, but Dujon is a tough, tough kid and he’s been excellent for us this season, so hopefully we can get some good news.”
Jordan Gabriel is still injured and wasn’t available vs Forest but isn’t far away so could come into the side if Sterling is injured and out of the clash versus PNE.
Callum Connolly is also an option and could play at right back if Gabriel and Sterling are out.
