Chris Pine was seen showing off his rugged good looks during a Friday outing in New York City, as he rocked a very bushy salt-and-pepper beard.

The All the Old Knives actor, 41, paired his shaggy look with a black hoodie, matching shorts, athletic leggings, as well as a pair of hiking boots.

He was accompanied by his former Star Trek co-star Zachary Quinto – with whom he is set to reunite once again on the set of Star Trek 4 – and friends.

Pine later took off his hoodie and revealed his long brown hair as well as his sizable muscles peeking from underneath his grey tank top.

Quinto, 44, also wore an athletic outfit for the day, donning a dark navy beanie, a  blue hoodie, matching shorts, and trainers. He paired his casual style with black sunglasses and blue socks.

Pine and Quinto previously starred in 2009’s Star Trek, 2012’s Star Trek Into Darkness, and 2016’s Star Trek Beyond, as the iconic Kirk and Spock, and have signed on to do a fourth movie.

In a recent interview with Variety, Pine admitted that he still hasn’t seen the script for the movie.

‘I think everybody was like, “Did you hear about this?” [Laughs]. We’re usually the last people to find out, but I do know we’re all excited. Whenever they want to send us a script, we’re ready for it.’

He went on to say that he does not know what the story will be about. ‘We haven’t seen a script. I don’t know anything about it.’ 

Elsewhere in the interview he discussed working with an intimacy coordinator during the filming process for All the Old Knives, where he stars as a CIA agent alongside his love interest Thandiwe Newton.

An intimacy coordinator is a staff member who is in charge of the well-being of actors participating in sex scenes or other intimate scenes.

The profession became more in demand in the U.S. entertainment industry after the 2017 Harvey Weinstein scandal and the Me Too movement pointed out various on set issues that can lead to sexual misconduct. 

‘I had never done that before. You’re doing a sex scene in a bedroom and you have this older woman that’s watching and giving you notes on how to do the sex scene and I’m thinking, “Who is this person telling me how to have sex?”‘ he joked.

‘But it was wonderful. She was lovely. It just takes the pressure off. There’s just no discomfort, because you have someone like a referee making sure it’s all above board and everyone is comfortable,’ he went on.

The actor also added that the coordinator helped to choreograph some of the scenes – though that is a role typically taken on by an intimacy choreographer.

‘She’s also like a choreographer making sure it all translates well on screen like, “Move your neck” or “Arch your back more,”‘ he said.

All the Old Knives is set to be released on April 8, 2022.
