An 18-year-old Wyndham man is appearing in court following a stabbing at Federation Square after the opening night of Moomba.
The victim is in a stable condition in hospital after the incident which happened just before midnight.
The 18 year old Wyndham Vale man will face court this afternoon, charged with intentionally causing injury.
Police arrested seven other male youths- aged between 14 and 17, who have been interviewed and released.
All are expected to be charged on summons with affray.
Police believe those involved are known to each other.
