Tulsa firefighter wins nonprofit fitness competition

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa Firefighter was awarded “Most Fit” First Responder by a Tulsa nonprofit on Saturday.

Dillon Youngblood won the title for the third year in a row at the FIT FOR DUTY. FIT FOR LIFE Competition.

Fit First Responders (FFR) is a local nonprofit organization that was created in 2015 by local performance coach, Coach JC. It was created to serve first responders, and this year a veteran’s division was added.

Hundreds of veterans and first responders competed in 12 weeks of mental and physical tests, and the final competition was on Saturday at WIN ALL DAY headquarters in Tulsa. The competition was comprised of a series of events like the rowing machine, stationary bike, kettlebell workout, barbell complex and a sled push.

“I’d like to thank Coach JC for starting this program and changing the lives of so many first responders. I would also like to thank my family, friends and God for their support and blessing,” said Youngblood.

“We are honored and grateful to once again serve those that serve us. This is a win for all the first responders that competed, their families, the agencies they work for and all of the Tulsa area,” said Coach JC. “They deserve the best and that is what we will continue to provide them so they can win on the job and in life – that is FIT FOR DUTY. FIT FOR LIFE!”

FFR also awarded the biggest male and female transformations at the 12 week competition.

The male transformation winner was Ozzie Donato, a Tulsa police officer, and the female transformation winner was Kristy Peck, an officer in the U.S. Military.
