Palos Teens Can Work Out For Free At Planet Fitness This Summer

PALOS, IL — Palos teens can stay in shape for fall sports or address their physical fitness by working out for free this spring and summer at Planet Fitness. The free workouts are of Planet Fitness’ “High School Summer Pass,” which runs from May 16 to Aug. 13.

The free gym offer is for teens between the ages of 14 and 19 and is available at any of the company’s more than 2,200 locations.

The program, launched in 2019, was formerly known as “Teen Summer Challenge.” Planet Fitness said more than 900,000 teens sign up annually and complete more than 5.5 million workouts over a three-and-a-half-month period.

“As the leader in fitness, we believe we have a responsibility to provide a welcoming, safe, and Judgement Free environment for high school students to improve their physical and mental wellness, particularly given the challenges they have and continue to face in the wake of the pandemic,” said Chris Rondeau, chief executive officer at Planet Fitness, in a news release.

As an added bonus, all teens who sign up starting May 16 will be entered into the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass Sweepstakes. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to one teen in each state, and a grand prize $5,000 scholarship will be awarded at the end of the summer. The scholarships can be used for academic or athletic activities or programs.
