A new sport and fitness arena has opened its doors in Kilmarnock after initially being refused in another location.
Callum Corbett-Peters’ blueprints to open a facility at Bonnyton Industrial Estate was refused after planners determined the nature of the business was not ‘business or industrial’.
But following the knock-back from East Ayrshire Council planners, Callum has found a new premises and is now up and running.
The ‘CP Sport and Fitness Arena’ is now based at 13 East Netherton Street — between High Glencairn Street and Bentinck Street.
Five coaches are operating out of the facility that has a private gym and indoor astroturf pitch.
Callum, who set-up his business in the summer of 2020, says he has a sense of pride after finally opening.
He said: “Over the past month, we have taken a huge leap forward with the opening of our new sports facility, The CP Sport and Fitness Arena.
“Our facility includes a fully equipped private gym studio for personal training and private gym use.
“Further to this, an indoor astroturf pitch allows us to facilitate both of our coaching services together, and also deliver indoor football 1:1’s and classes.
“We are so excited to finally bring this facility to life and cannot wait to get fully up and running!”
At the moment, the facility is open for football sessions and PT sessions and private memberships will be launching in June.
He added: “With our team of five amazing coaches being located within Ayrshire, we have a real connection with the clients we work with both in the gym and on the pitch.
“By establishing strong connections with local football clubs and businesses, we feel a real sense of pride to provide an amazing opportunity to keep locals fit and active.”
