Just In: Sydney’s Second Five Guys Is Opening Next Week in the CBD

Australia’s second Five Guys will officially open on George Street in Sydney’s CBD next Monday, June 6. It comes after the US burger giant’s first Aussie outlet opened in Penrith in September 2021. Diner number two will take over 383 George Street, within the heritage-listed Spiden House, also home to a Wework co-working space.

Like its brethren here and abroad, Five Guys George Street will be decorated with Five Guys’ signature red and white colours, while maintaining the bones of the historic structure of the site.

Known for being freezer- and microwave-free, Five Guys is often considered a cut above other burger chains; buns are baked fresh each day, patties are handmade, fries hand-cut and lettuce shredded by hand. There are thousands of ways to customise your meal, from adding jalapenos and hot sauce to your burger, to adding Cajun seasoning to twice-cooked fries. You can also add crispy bacon, Oreo pieces or strawberries to your shakes.

The first Five Guys opened in Arlington, Virginia, on the fringes of Washington DC, in 1986. While franchises have been available since 2003, it remains family-owned; you can now eat Five Guys in 23 countries. Hospitality group Seagrass (6Head, Meat & Wine Co, Ribs & Burgers) is the Australian franchisee for the diner group.

Five Guys will open at 383 George Street, Sydney on June 6, 2022. It will be open from 11am–10pm daily.
