STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island will host a Family Fitness Class for Ukraine on Sunday, April 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class will take place in the Lewis Stolzenberg Social Hall at the Bernikow JCC, 1466 Manor Road.
All participants will be asked to donate $10 to participate. Funds raised will benefit UJA-Federation of New York’s Ukraine Emergency Fund. Since the crisis in Ukraine began, UJA and its partners have been on the ground providing emergency needs, including humanitarian supplies and refugee aid.
The JCC continues to work with UJA and other local and international organizations to help Staten Islanders with family members fleeing Ukraine.
“Our hearts are broken for Ukrainians and their families,” noted JCC CEO Orit Lender. “We are happy to help in any way we can — whether it’s hosting a fitness benefit class or connecting those in need with resources. We are here to help all those in need at this difficult moment.”
