Just a week after the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the Indian players will hit the field and kick off the preparations for the five-match T20I series against South Africa. The India-SA series kicks off on June 9 while the final of IPL 2022 is scheduled to take place on May 29.
A few days before the first international game of the 2022/23 season, the Indian players will gather at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as they have been reportedly asked to clear the fitness test to play in the series.
As per Insidesport, VVS Laxman will supervise the camp that will take place at NCA. The former India batsman is the chief of the NCA.
“All players for South Africa series will have to assemble for a fitness camp at NCA. It’s important as many of them are carrying niggles. Harshal still has stitches and we want to make sure everything is fine,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by InsideSport.
