The Bridge Behavioral Health has both a voluntary medical withdrawal unit and a protective custody unit, where police can bring intoxicated people for up to 24 hours if they’re deemed a danger to themselves or others. The agency says it will not renew contracts with police for that protective custody service once the current contracts end.
