Registration is now open for the 41st Festival Fitness 5 races during the Smoky Hill River Festival.
The multifaceted race include a five-mile run, a two-mile run,a two-mile walk, and children’s races, and is scheduled for June 11 in Oakdale Park and Kenwood Park, according to information from Salina Regional Health Center, the sponsoring organization.
The races are being run in connection with the 46th annual Smoky Hill River Festival, which is scheduled for June 9-12 in Oakdale Park.
“The five-mile run will go through Oakdale Park and continues to downtown Salina on Santa Fe. The two-mile run/walk goes through the park. The children races all happen next to the train in Oakdale Park,” Brandon Martinez, wellness coordinator for Salina Regional Health Center, told Salina Post.
Those attending can quench their thirst with a variety of “clean” energy teas from Vibin’ Nutrition, and there will be a water stop at Sharp Performance during the five-mile run. Additionally, participants can get a snack after the race, including fruits, breakfast bars, and cold water, Martinez noted.
